English Department

“Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” –Stephen Hawking

As we all adapt to the changes in our daily lives, please turn to the resources provided by Cony’s teachers. There is no better time than now, and no better reason than our current challenges, to write about what we’re experiencing, to observe and record the trials we face, and to chronicle the common threads that bring us together despite our separation from one another. Please use writing now more than ever to document this time in your life and to express your reaction to the changes you face.

And read.  Read a lot.  Learn from the wisdom of others to cope with the challenges we face, or to just provide a distraction from the mundane. Now is the time to read a book that intrigues you, but was never on a teacher’s syllabus. Challenge yourself and comfort yourself in books.

The English department has provided you with a variety of resources to explore.  Please take advantage of their considerable wisdom and expertise to continue to learn about and to understand not just the world around us, but ourselves.
