               Presentation attached

Teachers currently use Tools of the Mind as the Pre-k curriculum. The pre-k team looked at different curriculums and consulted with the DOE about different programs.  The DOE recommends PreK for ME and the team agreed.  All training is with the DOE and is free.  The program has developmentally appropriate play, literacy, math, creative arts, social-emotional concepts, outdoor learning, and technology components and are all aligned with Maine’s Early Learning and Development Standards.  Pre-K teachers are excited about this program.

Motion by Martha Witham to move PreK for ME to the board for consideration, second by Pia Holmes, so moved 2-0.

  1. Math and CCC program materials that need to be disposed due to the new K-5 math program and upgrades to the 6-8 math program and primary elementary CCC literacy program. It is stated in policy DN: School Properties Disposition that the Board needs to be informed.

Ms. Grondin said the Gardiner school district will accept our older version of the CCC reading program materials.  She said they are reaching out to other districts who may have a need for the My Math materials.  If no one is interested in it, it will be disposed/recycled in an environmentally sound way.

Meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
