  1. WIDA Access score results for ESL

Donna Madore, Assistant Superintendent, said WIDA (Wisconsin Individual Diagnostic Assessment) is an assessment for our English as a Second Language (ESL) population and is a state mandate.  Students took the assessment in January and February.  This is the first year students had to do it by computer.   Last year there were 60 K-12 students who took the assessment compared to 93 this year which shows the growth in our ESL population.  AMAO 1 (Annual Measurable Achievement Objective) measures progress made from one year to the other.  The imposed target set by the state is 51.4% of students have to make at least a 0.4 improvement.  This year 65% of students made the 0.4 improvement.   The AMAO 2 measures proficiency.  The highest score is a proficiency level of 6 and once students reach that score they can be discharged from the ESL program.  The imposed target was 7% of students had to score a proficiency rate of 6.0.  District wide we had 4%.

  2. School culture survey results

Donna Madore went over the school survey results which was borne out of the Drop Out Prevention Committee and Board Members April Cusick and Jennifer Day are members of that committee.  The Community and Parents survey was posted on our Facebook page and on our website.  At the elementary schools notice of the survey was posted on newsletters and at the high school notices were sent out to the parents.  Overall the results were positive but there is always room for improvement.   Administrators are sharing with their staff and they will write a school goal in each of their buildings on what they can improve upon.   There were suggestions by board members on what they would like changed for next year’s survey and the Drop Out Prevention Committee will look at a revision.  Results will be posted on Facebook and our website.
