Lisa Dahlin, Sixth Grade

Lisa - CopyWelcome to my homepage.  It is my 14th year working for the Augusta School District and my 13th year as a 6th grade teacher.  Leif and I have 6 children: 5 sons and 1 daughter; the youngest (twins),  recently graduated from college.  We also have two granddughters Emma, 10,  and Bria, 3, and three grandsons: Colton, born November 2015, Connor born Christmas day 2015, and Gabrial born May 8, 2015.
It is a pleasure having your child in my homeroom.  I love teaching 6th grade.  It is a wonderful year of transition where students are encouraged to be more responsible and independent.  This is not always easy but if we are consistent and work together, your child will leave elementary school more mature and capable.

One of my favorite quotes is: “It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful human beings.” Ann Landers

I completed my undergraduate work at the University of Maine Farmington with a major in Elementary Education and a concentration in Writing. My Master's Degree is in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy. Additionally, I recently completed 110 hours of professional development with a cohort via EDC out of Waltham, MA, which concentrated on formative assessment in mathematics.  I consider myself a lifeliong learner and enjoy learning everything I can to improve my instruction.

Please feel free to come in, e-mail, or call any time.  My door is always open.
