Troy Alexander, Principal

AlexanderIt is wonderful to be back at Hussey School. As a past alumni and teacher it is very humbling to now be the school’s principal.  My career spans over thirty-years and began at Hussey School as a multiage teacher in 1st and 2nd grade. Over a nine year period I taught in grades 1st through 5th.  After receiving a Masters in Literacy Education I began work as the Director of Title I – a district level position.

Later, I received my Certificate of Advanced Studies (C.A.S) in Educational Leadership, Reading Recovery training and Literacy Coach certificate.

My interest in becoming a principal prompted me to take the Dean of Students position at Gilbert Elementary School. While at Gilbert I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful staff and Mrs. Dionne the school’s principal. I also finished up my second Certificate of Advanced Studies in Literacy Education (C.A.S).

I am very honored to be the principal at Hussey Elementary School. The coming school year brings exciting opportunities for students, parents, teachers and the principal.  Our staff will work closely with the Hussey community to provide engaging, rigorous educational opportunities that support literacy, math, science, social studies, physical education and the Arts.

When not at work, I love spending time with my two daughters and my wife.   In my free time, I enjoy reading, Mt. biking and kayaking. I also like to fly-fish, too.
