Amanda Mills - Literacy Specialist

I have been the Literacy Specialist here at Lincoln Elementary School since 2013. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education with a minor in Psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington. I went on to support students with learning disabilities at both the elementary school level and the middle school level before earning my Master's Degree in Literacy from the University of Southern Maine. In past years, my staff and I provided targeted assistance to eligible Title I students and their families to build the foundational literacy and math skills necessary for each student to succeed in school and life.

Now that Lincoln Elementary School is considered a Schoolwide Title I school the federal funds are used to implement reforms that upgrade the educational program of the entire school.  All students are essentially considered "Title I students" and literacy and math services can be provided to any students in need of supplemental support. I will be working closely with the RTI team and classroom teachers to determine intervention reading supports for those students demonstrating a need in grades K through 6.

The best way to reach me is through email; however, please feel free to leave a phone message too and I will return your call as soon as possible.
