Welcome Gilbert Falcons!

Hello everyone, my name is Meghan Marston and I am beyond excited to be teaching kindergarten and first grade at Gilbert Elementary School this year! I grew up in Augusta and graduated from Cony High school in 2008. During my junior and senior year of high school, I attended the CATC early childhood program and knew instantly I wanted to become an early educator. In 2013, I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maine at Farmington with a Bachelor's Degree in Early childhood Education. This is my 8th year teaching and 3rd year here at Gilbert. I know you will love our Gilbert squad just as much as I do!

My goals as a teacher are to provide students high quality instruction that meets the individual needs of each child. To create an inspiring learning environment in which students feel safe and valued. To instill a passion for learning in my students in which they will always remember. I know that this year will look different but these goals remain the same whether children are in my classroom or over a screen!

Majority of our learning will be done on a platform called Seesaw. This is where I will be posting assignments and where your child can submit pictures, drawings, or voice clips of their work. Click on your child’s grade to get to their Seesaw login link. (Kindergarten) (first grade)  Other learning resources we will use this year include: MobyMax, IXL, Razzkids, Mysterydoug, and Social Studies Weekly. (You can click on the word to take you to the login page for that resource.)

I look forward to meeting each and every one of you! This year will look different and might even be trying at times but as long as we are patient, kind, flexible, and have open communication I know that together we can provide the best learning experience for your child.
