Cony staff and School Resource Officer received concerning information that a Cony high school student had a weapon in school around early afternoon.  Cony Administration and the School Resource Officer quickly began to investigate the concern.  Because the concern could not be quickly invalidated the decision was made to go into a “lock-in” protocol.  The student involved was quickly contained.  The Augusta Police responded immediately to help mitigate any safety concerns. It was deemed safe to dismiss the students with increased police presence.   After school activities were cancelled out of an abundance of caution.
